This week’s question comes from Erin H.

She asks, “Did you read mysteries as a child? Which ones?”

Ah! I love this question. The answer is a resounding ‘yes’! My love for mysteries started before I can even remember. I grew up reading Nancy Drew (I still have my books!) and the Mandie series. I also read standalone mysteries. I also thoroughly enjoyed fantasy and adventure books. In fact, these genres are my favourite to this day.

I also spent a lot of time watching mysteries on television. PBS Mystery was a must. I was also hooked on a number of mystery/crime shows. Hmm… maybe you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?

A fun memory:

When I was in grade six, a neighbour girl and I used to play detective. We were always solving mysteries or looking for secret passageways. We took turns pretend-dating the brothers from Simon & Simon. LOL!
