This is the first book I’ve read by Laura Childs. It was pretty good! I love cozy plots, but I was surprised a little by the language (it was mild, but I wasn’t expecting any language at all, so it caught me off guard). Relationships were also a bit more casual than what I would typically read in a Christian cozy. But the book was good, nonetheless!
Here’s the blurb:
“After Hurricane Katrina, scrapbooking shop owner Carmela Bertrand has her hands full getting Memory Mine back in business-and her relationship with her ex-husband, Shamus, back on its feet.
But then Shamus is kidnapped, and Carmela discovers Shamus’s Uncle Henry, murdered.
Carmela puts together a sentimental scrapbook of memories and keepsakes of Henry. But her project holds a clue that could identify the killer and kidnapper-and the murderer is going to try to close the book on Carmela once and for all.”
